I have a 10 year old water heater with OK efficiency.Before installing this product I took a thermal temperature gun to:The cement around the heater and it was 50 degrees.The air temperature is 60 degrees in the basement.I put the temp gun to the water heater and it showed 70 degrees.I installed the product, waited about 24 hours, it's now showing 69 degrees. This means the material is still being heated/loosing heat. And yes, I did install it right, the instructions are simple. This product is a waste of money.
