Product Description
From the Manufacturer
The Eccotemp L10 tankless water heater is one of the hottest tankless water heaters on the market. Designed for a more permanent, outdoor installation, the Eccotemp L10 tankless water heater gives you endless hot water at your cabin, summer cottage, lake homes, potting sheds, RV's, campers, horse washing stalls or wherever else you need hot water. The Eccotemp L10 delivers up to 2.65 Gallons Per Minute of hot water ranging from 80-165 degrees F - plenty for 1-2 hot water applications running at the same time. The 2 "D" cell battery ignition starts only when water is running, so there's no chance of overheating and makes it perfect for off grid or areas where you have limited electricity. The L10 comes with standard 1/2" NPT fittings, making it easily plumbed in with standard fixtures. The ideal operating range is 25~80 PSI. The system also works great on modified water systems such as a 12 volt pump. Available in liquid propane only. Eccotemp has become the brand people trust with 24/7 technical support available toll free at 866-356-1992.

4.0 out of 5 starsTemperature/flow chart for this heaterJanuary 25, 2012

Neither the description on this page nor the manual that came with my unit make it clear how much hot water at what temperature this heater puts out. The following measurements will help anyone considering purchasing this unit get an idea of what to expect: (inlet water was 58-degrees F.) 81-degrees at 5.7 gallons per minute (barely warm)108-degrees at 2.7 gallons per minute (mildly warm)114-degrees at 2.5 gallons per minute (comfortably warm for washing dishes)117-degrees at 2.3 gallons per minute (hot, but still comfortable to hold your hands in)120-degrees at 2.2 gallons per minute (hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold your hand in but not nearly hot enough to burn)Assume that if your inlet water is 10 degrees cooler then the output will be 10 degrees cooler as well. What this means is that in winter with water close to freezing you'll need to run this heater dead slow to get warm water. Regular showerheads use 5 gallons per minute. Low flow showerheads reduce that to 2.5 gallons per minute. Super low flow camping showerheads may get down to as little as 2 gallons per minute. Use these numbers to determine if one of these units will supply enough hot water for your needs. After three hours of use with the gas flow turned on to maximum my unit starts turning off at shorter and shorter times. By 4 hours of use it's on less than 2 minutes before it shuts off. The problem appears to be caused by the pressure in the propane tank (one of the exchange tanks from Walmart) dropping too low. Turning the gas flow to halfway lets the unit function for another hour, but then even at that setting run times drop off quickly.
